  • Are there any chances our K1 will be denied due to multiple address changes?

    Hi,

My fiance and I are getting ready to submit our I-129F petition here soon and as I was filling out our biographical forms, I became a little concerned about the address and work history sections.

The form claims they need address and work history from the last 5 years.
My fiance and I are both in our early-twenties and have only recently graduated from college in the last 2-3 years. As a result, both of us have had a lot of different employers (due to temporary jobs and internship/training type jobs) and multiple address changes. I myself have two pages of work history alone.

My question is what is the purpose of these questions? Are they simply looking for information or do they want to establish something more like the character and stability of the applicants? Because our current work and address history would indicate that we are not stable.

My second question is would our petition be denied because of our excessive employment and address changes or would they sympathize with us because we are young and relatively recent college graduates who are just beginning to establish ourselves?

Many addresses not a problem for us

    Hi,

I recently finished grad school, and have moved EIGHT times in the last three years. I just filed the fiancee K1 visa in June, and the initial petition has been approved. It didn't seem to be a problem, as I did list all of my work (and lots of jobs and little money there too) and residences for the last five years.

It seems, as long as you're transparent about your situation, it is fine. Of course, there are no guarantees in this process, but ours is working out favorably.

    Best wishes!

It's probably more to do with FBI background checks. If they've got a "bad person" named Makhiji on their criminal or terrorists lists who lives in Atlanta and you also show Atlanta as one of your previous addresses, then they've got a "hit" they need to further investigate. They would check age, birthplace, etc to rule out that you are the criminal. Moving and changing jobs doesn't affect your visa decision.
