  • Is one visit enough for the K-1 to be approved?

I'm new to the forum and need some advice on the K-1.
I am the USC and my fiance is from India. Him and I met while he was on a J-1 trainee visa. He stayed in the U.S. for about one year before his visa expired and he was forced to return to India. I made plans to visit him in India about 3 months later, I even got an Indian visa but due to both of having financial hardships, we were unable to meet (we were both young college grads and did not have permanent jobs). He also made plans to study in the U.S. but was unfortunately denied an F-1 visa twice. It was not until over a year later that I was finally at a job where I could save some money and plan a trip to meet him. At this time, he was doing an internship in Bangkok, Thailand and so we met there and I spent 2 months over there. I was planning on going to India this fall to see him again but I just got a job offer for a full time position and may not be able to go that soon.

My question is, will one visit be enough? I mean we spent about a year together here in the U.S. and 2 months in Thailand. We have plenty of evidence of an ongoing relationship in those long distance periods but I'm just worried we may get denied because I did not visit him enough.

You will be good as long as you have met in the last two years and have proof of an ongoing relationship.
