HIB visa holder married to US citizen

I have been on an HIB visa for the past 2 years as I've been sponsored by my company. Last month I got married to my husband who is a US citizen. I'd like to know what the steps are to adjust my status & apply towards the green card. My husband and I are also thinking of traveling to Europe in Oct, so I would like to know whether or not I can travel outside of the country while i having my status adjusted?

I appreciate any help!
