  • AP at Greece Embassy ?

I would like help or advice on what to do or what is next..

    Fiancee Visa (I-129F)

approved by USCIS May 2011 made it all the way to Greece. Had first interview on July 6 2011

they asked questions and fiancee did answer all. Told at first interview he needed to have me to call

them. They gave him 221 (g) and told him I needed to come for interview. I call made apointment for

Aug 24th. 2011 and I went. The interview took three minutes and because I had filed for someone

before and then stopped the case and divorced the guy. I added the proof of letter from USCIS that the

case was closed so not to think I was hiding anything. Copy of official letter of case closing. They

wanted me there to only ask one question am I sure I was this case to continue I replies "Yes" I want

this case to go on.. Interview over just like that. Waited then told to go they will call.

I called the embassy two or three time the next week and nothing. Then two times the next week. I sent

two emails with no response until 9/14/2011. then letter said:

    "Dear Ms. N, "

"After consideration of the application for Mr. O’s visa, we have decided to send the case back to the

office of the USCIS for their reconsideration. This means that his visa will not be issued at this time and

that USCIS will consider whether or not case can proceed."

So is this AP? or what? Can someone help me here.. What do I make of this?

Thank you in advance for all your help

    embassy in Athens, greece

I had my K3 spouse visa issued to me at the US embassy in Athens, Greece. Am a Greek Citizen, born and raised in Athens, Greece. I speak Greek. Do you?

Sometimes speaking the language makes a difference. Having said that, it appears the US Embassy people in Athens, Greece tend to work under a pattern. For one reason or another they tend to refuse initially the petition for any kind of Visa unless one files for Tourist B1/B2 visa, which is no longer needed since Greece entered the Visa Waiver program. But that applies only to Greek Citizens, not permanent residents of Greece.

My situation was different than yours BUT when i went through the interview at the US embassy first i spoke with the blond lady, in Greek, who pre-screened my application, asked a few related questions and then she decided i should speak with the English speaking younger lady.

Useful note, it seems that the younger lady has some serious mental issues. If you have a chance consider discussing with the elder lady who speaks both English and Greek. AVOID the GREEK BLOND lady and the english speaking younger lady. If you have no choice but to adress the two "ladies" mentioned above then do not take offend, just think they have serious MENTAL problems!!!!

Their job at the US Embassy is a bit to cushioned for them and serious re-training and mental evaluation needs to be done to them.

In my case the petition was pretty straight forward! My husband and I did everything by the book, i never overstayed tourist visa, i never lied to them about anything, there was no reason for it, and i am certain that they did a background check on me and they found NOTHING, simply because there is NOTHING to be found.

YET they denied my petition on the reasoning (yes i got the blue slip at the interview) requesting that my husband in the United States calls them and talks with them! Does it ring any bells????

Also they wanted him to FAX documents (THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN SUBMITTED IN MY FILE AND THEY HAD THEM) one more time to them.

He did so the very same day due to the time difference between Greece and the USA and THE VERY NEXT DAY of my interview i got a phone call from the embassy people that my petition was GRANTED and i could come collect my passport (WHICH THEY TOOK AWAY FROM ME AT THE INTERVIEW FOR NO REASON SINCE THEY HAD DENIED ME BY GIVING THE BLUE SLIP) with the K3 spouse visa stamp on it!!!!!!!!

THE VERY NEXT DAY! It did not take a week or two weeks or a month! It took less than 24 hours to reach a decision and in my opinion the decision had already been made but they wanted to exercise their "power" with NO REASON! So i guess it is a pattern they use and am a Greek citizen!!!! There was nothing wrong with my interview, there was nothing wrong with my docs, there was nothing wrong altogether and yet they gave me the blue slip only to call me in less than 24 hours to tell me that the K3 was going to be issued and come collect my passport!!!!!!!!!

I saw your post and i thought this awfully reminds me what i went through and am sad to see that they STILL work this way!
