My fiance and I will be married on 11/19/11. Do we need to pay fees for both the I-485 and I-797? I am so confused. Also, what is the processing time for these forms?

I-797 is your receipt after you send off AOS you will receive 797 as proof that they have received it is called NOA1 for your AOS. You need to get married before you file AOS read the guides as seems you need to familiarise yourself with the process.
