Adjustment after getting married in K-1??

Do you need to to do adjustment immediately after K-1 marriage?
How long after you still can do if you dont have money to do it right away??
Would you have to hire a lawyer for file adjustment?
The lawyer charge alot so can you file adjustment by yourself without hiring and through a lawyer to save money due to economic hardship?
If YES please tell the procedure.THANKS

Yes it is possible without a lawyer. The procedure would take days to write out in a response in this forum.. This website has already written it out. If you haven't studied the guidelines, forms, and form instructions, then do that first. Adjustment of Status is under "Greencard" in the menu bar, but it's not very well organized on this website. A K1 adjustment is different than what other visas do so the guides are confusing to me and I understand the process well. Find another website that may have it organized where it tells K1 adjustment all by itself and not mixed in with other visas.

There is no law that says he and the children have to file adjustment immediately, but after 90 days they are overstaying their allowed time in the US. They won't get deportrd, but it gets awkward. And your husband will not be able to work until several months AFTER you file. So not filing keeps him from looking for a job.
