Hi,
I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I've tried to search all over and I can't get a direct answer to some of my questions.
A little background information, my fiancee and I have been together since August of 2008. She lives in the U.S and I live in Holland, I proposed to her on December of 2009.
I've visited her each year since 2009 (twice in 2009) and she's visited me this past month during Christmas.
We are both still fairly young, both at the age of 21. I still am studying and hold part time jobs here and there.
She just graduated for her associates and is working as an asst. teacher at a head start.
My questions are the following:
- For the affidavit of support, how much will she need to be earning a year to be acknowledged to be able to support me? Is it a set number or does it differ per state?
- Am I eligible for student financial aid if I want to resume my studies over in the U.S? The level of the college I'm going to right now is not equivalent to an associates/bachelor's degree in the U.S. I would like to go to college in the U.S and get a bachelor's degree in a field that I would enjoy working in, in the future. I've gotten 2 different answers searching on the internet for this question, one stating I would be and one stating I wouldn't be. So if someone knows for sure or has had experience with this, please enlighten me.
I have read a lot of the topics here and I would like to congratulate everyone here that has successfully gotten their loved ones to their rightful place, which is together with each other.
Thank you in advance for your answers and have a pleasant day!
