Missed Final Interview

I missed my Final interview for Immigrant Visa as there was death in family. I was away for 1 month. In the mean time what happended that the Passport office / Post Office has lost my passport (as i had applied for PCC). Now i have to apply for a new passport. I want to know if this will affect my application in any way as I had submitted photo-copies to INS for I-130 processing of the lost passport.
HELP !!!
