  • I-129F Approved. Now What?

I am the US citizen who applied for the fiancé visa which was approved days ago. So, what's next? Is the embassy going to contact me or my fiancé who lives back home? What forms do I need to fill out beside the support form?

    Behnam,

While I can't answer your question, I will be following this thread as I hope to be in the same situation soon. I do have one question for you. When did you submit your papers? Mine were submitted in November 2011 and at the time I was told 111 days average to process. I'm three weeks past that and I'm wondering from someone how long they had to wait.

    Best of luck to you.

My application was received on 11/30/2011 and was approved on 3/27/2012.

That depends on which embassy. Each have their own local procedure of the process. Find "US Embassy [back home?]" and see if you can find K1 instructions.

The US embassy I am working with is in Ankara, Turkey and I've read their K1 instruction. But, is not clear if they are going to mail instruction/forms to my fiancé in Iran, since, there is no relationship between the two countries. Also, is K1 visa a Non-immigrant visa or an Immigrant visa?

This explains it pretty well. The forms are listed and are downloadable on the Ankara website or Dept of State website. K1 is a non-immigrant visa because you get 90 days in the US in which to marry and nothing more. K1 does not come with a greencard like a spouse CR1 visa. But because after the marriage, you can remain in the US and apply for a greencard, the K1 is handled under the immigrant visa part of the embassy. You'll usually find answers to questions under immigrant visas on embassy websites, even though K1 is technically non-immigrant.

K1 visa is a one type of non-immigrant visas to US. This will allow your fiance, if granted the visa, to stay in US for the duration of 90 days within which you and your fiance can get married. After your marriage, your fiance can have her status adjusted from non-immigrant to immigrant, which if approved, will make your fiance a green card holder.
