Keeping her old SS

Hi All!

My Fiancee is hopefully coming soon (she got her K1! Now for the flight!), would she keep her previous social security number that she got when she was here first on a student visa? She had left 4 years ago when she graduated (we dated way back then) and so she hasn't come back here since.

Also would it be ok that she just renew her drivers license? It actually expires after she comes back here so it wouldn't be a big problem to renew it right? Drivers license don't have any tie in to your immigration status right?

SS no. once assigned to a person remains the same for life, no matter what.

Most states require an SS no. and a legal status .for DL renewal.

We'll be in Illinois. I didn't think they cared if you're an immigrant, citizen or just a foreigner on a long business trip. Figured all the IL DMV cares is you know the rules of the road.
