  • What happened to Texas Service Center?

I've been checking the K1 application status on uscis.com, but recently I noticed Texas Service Center disappeared off the list (I live in Texas). Anyone has any idea what happens to the Texas Service Center?

    Thanks - Anthony

They don't process I-129F Fiance petitions, but they do other processing. Yours is probably being processed at the Vermont Service Center. Did your receipt notice tell you? Read the whole notice. If your case number is EACxxxxxxxxx that's Vermont. WAC is California Service Center. That's the only two placess that process I-129F petitions.

My Attorney just told me on Mon that my K1 fiance application is going to the processing center in Dallas Tx. is this not true?

All K1s are mailed to the Texas Lockbox. Think of that as a big central mailroom. That is not the same as the Texas Service Center. After contractors open the mail, check for completeness and payment, issue your receipt, and organize your documents into a folder---then it goes to be evaluated for approval by USCIS adjudicators at VSC or CSC.

Thanks Nichole, although the receipt didn't mention the processing center, the case number begins with EACxxxxxxxxxx, so it is Vermont. It's been over 4 months since I've got the receipt notice so I got a bit concerned.

I didn't apply through an attorney, is there a way (online or phone) to check the what date they are processing now? When I entered my case number online, it just said it was still on Initial Review.

          Thanks,
          Anthony

Attorneys can't check specific status any more than you can. From another website that tracks people's timelines, it says VSC is working around Jan 27 petitions now. But that's a mathematical average of hundreds of k1 timelines. Not everybody with a receipt notice of Jan 27 has been approved by any means. So your day is around Mar 1? There's 108 entries people have made that filed in March that are still waiting if that gives you any reassurance. There's 1 listed as approved and it could have been an active military expedite or something like that. February is 127 waiting to 9 approved. You're going to be waiting around 5.5 months probably for approval unless they slow down even more in the next month or so.

My Attorney says the whole process is taking 5-6 months from start to finish
