K1 vs K3 - which one is faster in getting the spouse from India to USA ?

Hi all,

I am a US citizen, currently in USA, and my girlfriend is an Indian citizen, currently in India. We have decided to marry, but we would prefer to bring here to USA as soon as possible. I have two options :
(1) Get engaged in India, apply for K1, wait till she gets K1 approval, bring her to usa and get married
(2) Get married in India, apply for K3 and wait till she gets K3 approval.

Which of these options will help us in getting her here as soon as possible ?

Also, what is the average time period for her to come to usa in both the above options ?
