  • Interview Always Required

So after about 8 months I rec'd notice that my K-1 Fiance VISA petition was approved and sent to the consulate. Does this "approval" mean no interview needed, or is this interview always required? Thanks for the help.

The approval notice just means that the petition was approved, not the visa itself. Your fiancé(e) will need to have an interview at the embassy/consulate.

Do you know the typical time it will take for the consulate to contact us?

Usually it takes two to four weeks. The petition has to go via the NVC to get a visa number before it is sent to the embassy. The embassy will then send the paperwork to the intending immigrant, not to the US petitioner.

            Interview Always Requiered

You will have to go for an interview. Either you will be given a date for the interview in the Packet received from the embassy or they will instruct you to call to make an appointment for the interview.
