New H4 visa with H1B extension

Hi, My wifes H1B is expiring on Nov 3rd 2012, and currently the H1B extension is in progress.
Is it possble to apply the H4 visa alog with the H1B extenion or should we wait till the H1B is extended?

You can apply H1 and H4 extension same time.
