News about going to other consualte when passport is from Hyderabad

Yesterday, a local telugu news paper in AP (Vaartha) says-

People who has Hyderabad passport can't go to any other consulate except Chennai. This statement was given by the Hyderabad passport officer ane when I checked at www.ttsvisas.com it has the same information as earlier and it says - U.S. VISA-SEEKERS FROM CHENNAI MAY APPLY IN DELHI

I have an appointment for August 16th in Delhi and am in a dilemma like any other person in this situation.

Can someone through some light on this please??
