Regarding passport pickup

We have scheduled appointment in chennai consulate on 10th Dec.Just i want to know how long will it take for the passport to be ready for pickup? Do they have option of delivering the passport?We belong to a small town in south Tamilnadu.

I have attended the visa interview in Hyderabad on Oct 19th Friday, my passport is available for pickup on 23rd Tuesday. The general time mentioned in the embassy is 4-5 working days.

The passport tracking on the VFS Call Center was quite accurate compared to the email updates. I called the VFS helpline at around 12:30 on Tuesday and I came to know that it left the embassy post to the courier/VFS location. I picked up my passport at 3:30 PM and I got the email to collect my passport at 4:00 PM, AFTER i collected.

Comming to your second question on courier, during Fingerprinting time, the VFS personnel offered a premium courier service at an extra cost of around Rs350/-. The pickup location was pretty close to where I stay, so I denied this and didnot enquire further. Advice you to check with VFS reps during the Fingerprinting appointment.

Hi Chandookcs, Can you tell me how did u come to know that your passport is ready to pickup? Have u received any email or just with the tracking status?
