When can i enter US? H1B extension stamped in Chennai.

I got my H1B extension stamping done in Chennai on 8th November 2012. The petition is from 12/16/2012 to 12/15/2015. My current petition is from 09/20/2010 to 12/15/2012. The visa just has issue date 8th November 2012(11/08/2012) and expiration date as 15th December 2015. My return journey to US is scheduled for 1st December 2012 (12/01/2012).

Will there be an issue since i am entering(on 1st December 2012) earlier than the new petition start date(16th December 2012)? I have applied for my extension with the renewed petition number only. But, when i went to consulate, i have shown both my current and new petitions.

Any suggestions?

Show both petitions at POE and make sure your I-94 reflects the new petition expiry date.
