I am from Civil Engineering Background. I know 5 months is longer, but there is nothing much I can do, I guess. All the e-mails to embassy go in vain. My status didn't change since the date of the interview. Both the case creation date and updated date are the same. I don't know for how long would I be able to survive this pain.

                Brother,

Sorry.. you might have already posted this info.. But .. Is the passport with you or with the embassy? When you say Civil back ground.. do you actually work in Civil Engg?

Did you try calling Dept of State or sseek help through local senator? This might not speed up the process but it will just bring to their attention that you have been waiting for so long..

I dont know why it got posted twice. I work in Civil Engieeirng field itself. Consular kept the passport and said it would take about 2-3 weeks to issue the visa. I have called Dept of State nd they say my case is in Hyderabad consulate nd it is upto them to process the visa.

Well, best of luck. Carry all the docs... especially Client letter (new), Any recent pay stub of your employer, any recent appraisal letter, offer letter... By the way is your approved I797 still valid? because if it has expired then I am not sure how the interview would go...
