You can email support@ustraveldocs.com and check if they are expecting any information from you and that case has been ending for almost 6 months now.

When ever I call US - Consulate @ 022-6720-9400 (press option # 1 2 2 3 5 one at a time to speak to a person), they said, please call after 60 days, now that you have already passed 60, it might be worth checking with them if there is anything pending from your side.

    Thanks,
Thank you for the info. There is nothing pending from my side as I have contacted the US consulate and DoS several times. Almost once every 15 days. I haven't tried the number you provided so will give that a shot on Tuesday.

    Thanks again.

    • 221 g/ Interview in New Delhi on 21st May

      Hello everyone,

I attended my US visa interview on 21st May, 2013 here in New Delhi. I received a 221 g white slip towards the end. I was told there appeared some issue with SEVIS when my petition was filed. I couldn't get further info from VO as he informed that I would receive more details over email from the embassy. He did mention I should receive my passport within 1-2 weeks. I haven't received any info so far. Earlier I was on OPT before my status changed to H1B NIV. I had returned to India on a family trip and thus had to go through the revalidation process. To give you a quick background, I don't work for IT industry and graduated from business school in the US.

Any suggestions, on what I can do to expedite the process, whom to get in touch to learn exact nature of the problem. Has anyone faced similar situation in the past (SEVIS issue) and how much time it took them. I know the VO said 1-2 weeks but seeing some of the posts it's clear it takes longer. Would really apprecaite your inputs.

      Many thanks

      • Hi All,
My H1 visa stamping is stuck
with 221g white and with questionnaire given in hyderabad consulate during 2013.
If you are stuck, please add your case here.
If you are cleared, please add your timelines and experiences here. It will be really appreciated
by other folks as it overcomes the anxiety and gives some hope.
        My case is follows:
H1 extension. Big company. Full Time.
        OFC Hyderabad : 21 May 2013
        Interview Hyderabad : 22 May 2013
simple questions asked and 221g white is handed. Only thing ticked is, it said something like 'you will get email'.
got an email same day with basic questionnaire plus CV and invitation letter asked.
        Replied on same day!
Waiting since then. Current status says 'administrative processing'.
Trying to see if anyone passed 4 weeks and will it clear in 4 weeks? Is there anyone with similar
situation since March or April and got cleared and or not yet cleared?
Please help with the info!!! Really appreciate.

I did some more research. Following are some of the cases pending administrative processing
in hyderabad since last one month. Let me know if any of these belong to any person looking at this email thread
of following it. Please add your case number if you are in similar situation.

              • Hi,

My Case creation date: 16th April, 2013
                Interview date: 18th April, 2013

There has been no change in the status update date ever since I attended my interview. Even I have been keeping a track of other cases around the time of April and May and noticed that a few people who were under admin processing received status updates.

I applied for an F1 Visa and was supposed to travel by 25th May. Luckily I got an extension from my college by a few weeks and hopefully I'll get my passport stamped by then...Waiting with bated breath.

                  Hi Rby1990
I hope and pray for you to get your visa soon.
thanks for updating your case number.
what did they ask you in interview and was there any follow up submission of documents or questionnaire??
Is your case exactly similar to my case? I think the people who attended interview in MID- April and waiting
should be lucky this week. usually the time between 4 to 6 weeks clears most of the cases so this week
is the 6th week for mid april folks.

                  thanks

                  • Hi again,

Thanks and I hope your visa gets issued soon as well. My interview went well...At the end of the interview I was told Everythin looks fine..Congrats!! the VO kept my passport, DS160, SEVIS receipt and other docs and just returned my i20...I thought its approved...later I saw the white form and realised that my case is under 221g....I was sent an email the same day, it was ticked in the form...and I replied to the mail the within hours.

Even I am expecting some kind of response from them this week. I did call up the consulate ppl but they've only one standard response...they said they cannot escalate the issue until 60 days are completed...So they asked me to wait for 60 days. I just hope its issued this week or atleast by this fortnight...

                        Guys,

The following information I could find in different websites As I have common muslim name, I may qualify for Donkey Visa Check. If you are from TAL then it is MANTIS Visa check and if you are from Mid East or some name then it is Condor check.. I guess Condor is faster, following by MANTIS.. Slowest is the Donkey check.. 4 to 6 months is pretty standard.. But the probability of getting visa is almost close to 99% unless you lose your project and job and cannot provide client letter or other employer info after your processing is finished.. Sometimes, all the above info is irrelavant... please see the following and google wikiepedia for more...

                        Visa Delays/Denials

Delays in the issuance of non-immigrant visas at U.S. consulates abroad are becoming increasingly frequent and longer in duration for some of our foreign national employees. While there is not a lot that can be done to overcome these lengthy delays, we would like you to understand what a security clearance means and when to expect them.

At the consular level, a foreign national can be subject to various types of security clearances. The four most common security clearances encountered by those requesting a non-immigrant visa to enter the U.S. are:

                        Visas Condor;
                        Visas Mantis;
                        Visas Donkey;
and the National Crime Information Center check.
It is important to note that you will not know what type of security check you are undergoing, as the consular officers routinely refer to security clearance delays as ‘administrative processing.’

A visas Condor clearance is a security check based on country of birth, citizenship, or permanent residency in a country that is known as a state sponsor of terrorism. The specific triggers for this clearance are classified, but it is likely to affect those born in or residents of one of 26 countries with possible connections to activities affecting the security interests of the United States. While this security clearance typically targets males, there is has recently been an increase in the number of women subject to this clearance as well. The Department of State reports a two to three day processing time on this type of clearance, however many foreign nationals are experiencing delays of three to six weeks.

A foreign national subject to the visas Mantis security clearance works in an area that appears on the Critical Fields List of the Department of State’s Technology Alert List. The list focuses on fields that have “dual-use” applications. Dual-use applications are areas of seemingly benign technologies that may have potential military/terrorist applications. The technology alert list is a very comprehensive list that includes almost every skill involving chemistry, immunology, biomedical sciences, architecture, engineering, and urban design. Because of the list of technologies involved, it is very common for professors and researchers to be subject to this clearance. Foreign nationals of China, India, Russia, Pakistan and other Islamic countries seem to be heavily targeted for this security clearance. The Department of State reports that this clearance can take six to eight weeks.

A visas Donkey clearance is based on a name match for non-criminal issues, generally because someone has a common name. Likewise, a NCIC clearance is based on a name match but is because of potential criminal issues. The name match would appear because the consular office is concerned that the name of the non-immigrant visa applicant has matched a name on a terrorism watch list, foreign arrests and warrants database, and/or the U.S. arrests and warrants database. Some of the name match issues can be cleared up within a few hours, others may take several months to process.

Once a consular officer has determined that you may be ineligible to enter the U.S. because of security related concern, the consular officer requests a Security Advisory Opinion (SAO) from the Department of State (DOS). The DOS then coordinates with numerous agencies, including but not limited to the FBI, CIA, Interpol, and Department of Homeland Security, to clear you for visa issuance. Not until all agencies have responded to the Department of State with positive opinions can the DOS instruct the consulate to issue the visa.

Once you have been told that your visa application will be subject to administrative processing, there is little that can be done to expedite the process. For employees likely to be subject to a visas Mantis clearance, a well-prepared letter from the employing department may help. The letter should discuss the research you are involved in within the context of the public benefit the research is providing.

Just wondering how did you came up with this ***** number of 4 weeks? Is this your observance or did you read some where.

I also think, Case Numbers are personal and should not be revealed. There is no advantage sharing this personal information so why share ?

                              Hi Buddy,
you dont have to share any personal information.
I just shared what I found by spending lot of time.
Because there is no other way to get useful information about the time it takes for processing.

SO I have patiently gone through case by case looking at the status of applications since Feb 2013 and
based on that, I see that at least 90% of administrative processing cases are issued at around 4 weeks.
The case numbers I mentioned are those which are still pending and it will help in monitoring them to see
when they cleared. you dont have to worry about it though.
