221 (g) White Form
Originally posted by USER553 View PostAssalam o alaikum Taher
How long you have been waiting for. I am waiting for around 5 weeks .. It was a white slip at Delhi consulate & no documents asked. I also stuck up in 221 g in past too (in 2006 and 2011) & every time it took around 3 months, I am not sure whether this tikme it would be faster as i had previously "Clearence recieved"on my passport in 2011.
A quick recap about my interview,
Hello Friends,
I received 221(g) White form with nothing written on it on May-03-2013 (Friday) at Hyderabad.
Interview Date: MAY-03-2013
Location: HYD
Visa Class: H1B
I went to Visa Interview with my wife.
About Me:
1. Like many others, I am FTE from a reputed USA organization.
2. Been on H1 for the past 5 years.
3. Had H1-B visa stamped from India. This was my second H1-B stamping .
Interview lasted only seconds,
Visa Officer, frustrated with previous candidate (a family, they had some issues with finger printing)
Visa Officer was Indian American with a short beard (I mean really short).
Questions:
1. Purpose of Visit
2. What is your company name
3. Can I check your I-797
4. Can I check your DS-160 confirmation, and he started pulling papers (by then I knew I would be getting special treatment)
5. Whats your salary
And then he took our passports and gave us white form and said, you would receive an email just respond to that email.
I had 221(g) AP previously- I believe it was green color, back in 2009 and I got passport in a week, exactly 5 days. No documents were asked to submit.
But this time, I got 221(g) white color. I have few questions, please help me understand this, any help is highly appreciated.

H4 visa for wife
Hi,
My wife went for H-4 stamping on 25th Feb 2013 and she was given 221G asking for additional documentation. We submitted the documents on April 18th.
CEAC tracker says "Admin Processing" and updated date is 26th Feb.
Its been around 47 days and there is no update on the case. When i had a chat with the support guys, they told me that u need to wait for 60 days and then i can inquire, i don't know what kind of inquiry i can make?
This is not the regular 221G processing and this is a case of additional documents. Can someone please let me know how i should proceed?
Thanks

Hi Folks,
I was not logged in over the weekend as those are the only 2 days I get some rest after working night shift throughout the week. Anyways, Congrats to folks who got their visa today. I am happy for each one of you and hope I get to experience that feeling soon. For all others who are new here, welcome (unfortunately). just another quick background on my case
Interview date : August 24th 2012
221g white, nothing checked just says admin processing needed.
280 days and counting for me!!
Hope something changes this week. To add to my stress I saw that all of a sudden my status changed to "Refused" after 9months of "pending admin processing". I called DOS Thursday & Friday and they confirmed its a system error and my case is still pending processing. To be safe even confirmed by sending email to US consulate in Hyderabad and they too say its still pending. One guy from DOS even told me "dont go by CEAC". Crazy right!! so I called them more than a few times and spoke with diff people to confirm that its still pending.
before today I hated seeing "pending" but after seeing even an incorrect "refused" I am just happy that its still pending... :-)
Lets see, gonna call them today too

221g after interview New Delhi
Hi All, I discovered this forum just a while back and read about some very interesting cases. Therefor decided to joinin
Here is my interview\background details -
Got 3 yr ext. after 6 yr on H1B and I have an approved I140. I went for stamping on May01 2013, VO asked few regular question about employer, salary, if I'm married, have kids. Then he said "Your visa is approved and I should get my passport within 2-3 days". He kept my passport and I797. During interview he didn't asked for any additional documents. Next day I got an email saying my visa is on hold and they need additional documents from my Petioner. Documents asked were - all the docs. that were filled with USCIS, employment offer letter, client verification letter, projects list that I'll be working on, W2s\paystubs\tax returns.
My companies attorney prepaired all the documents and after 1wk i.e. on 9thMay 2013 I submitted all the documents. Haven't heard from consulate since, neither did consulate updated any status on CEAC website, it still shows Case Created on 30April (went for finger print\pic) and Case updated 01May. It has been 2 weeks today. I checked with my employer and client they haven't heard anything either.
Note: My I129 case status on USCIS website still shows "Acceptence" even though it was approved under PP.
Experts please shed some-light on my case, How long do I have to wait? USCIS website showing I129 (H1B extenstion after 6th yr) under Acceptance status could be the issue?
Any answers are greatly appreciated, this wait is killing me here since my wife and 1month old kid is in US and they don't have any help there.
Thanks....

as you guessed it looks like due to inconsistency of I129 status on I129, your case is pending. If you have submitted everything properly just relax and wait some more time.
I feel that you would be cleared within next two weeks.

Assuming you have submitted everything PROPERLY, you should be getting it soon.
Also having gone through some more cases, I think the delay also depends on the way we respond to consulate's emails, questionnaires etc.
For example, one of my friend got an email to submit documents... while submitting documents he has foolishly replied something like this:
"Hello Sir, today I had interview and I also had all the documents but VO said my case needs additional processing and asked me to check email
and reply email with attached documents even though I already took all the documents. I could have showed everything to him there itself. anyways I did not
want to argue with VO there so I said thanks and came back. Please take it as a feedback to streamline the process so that if documents are
available during interview there should be no need to submit over email.. having said that, i am attaching the required documents"...
Needless to say his case is stuck for more than a year.. I am not saying that you also replied liked that but just wanted to inform the people that when
they write or respond something, please get it reviewed from lawyers, your friends and multiple people to make sure that the communication is
right.. in the above example, my friend is very nice person, i know what he meant in writing is just his innocence. if he had reviewed it with
someone they would have corrected him.. because what he has written looks very bad to third person.
One more thing... do not make any assumptions.. if they ask you to submit 5 documents and even if they say one of them is optional then still send it.
Infact send more than what they asked. In my case they had not asked me I-140 approval even though it was my 6+ year extension.. but still since I know
that that is one of the criteria for my extension, I have attached and sent I-140 otherwise they would come back after few weeks and ask me to send again
and it will go in admin processing again and it will delay few more weeks.. we dont want to get stuck in that cycle.
Even if one doc is missing the case would take long time.. they will take weeks or months to get back to you and ask for missing document. sometimes
they wont even bother about the case if something asked is missing or incorrect or incorrectly presented to them.. we thing we are doing right but
from their perspective it would be incomplete and we will end up frustrating why they are not responding or not processing the case even after submission.

ready to pick up
Originally posted by tahersub4t View PostDid you collect your passport? Did you get it stamped? Please keep us updated.
Thanks,
just today only passport status changed to 'ready to pick up' and got the mail.
as i am still in bangalore, i asked my wife to go and collect it tomorrow at hyderabad.
dying to see the stamped passport soon.
usually after you status changes to "ISSUED" it takes 2 days to get the passport ready for pick up.
during those two days dont send mail to consulate. i sent them yesterday saying that the status is 'issued'
and when can i expect to receive the passport.. those stupid guys replied with their standard format. in the
reply they scared me saying that the case is still under administrative processing. but i know that if the status is 'issued'
it is definitely issued, so i was waiting for the mail to collect the passport.. so it is finally ready for pick up.
