Thanks a lot for your response. yes, you are right there is no guaranteed pattern which case will get resolved. My case is updated once again i.e. 27 Aug but still is in AP. I have seen some cases got cleared very next day of first update & some of them are still pending in AP.So, there is no prediction.I am following this group since so long & I know that you are wating since a long time. It is really painful.Let us remember in our prayer.I hope your case will get resolved soon. when is your case got updated first time & last time??

Dear Mask728,

My case is different than this group participants ( Non H type) and felt i could get some suggestion. I am from hyderabad and appeared for B1 interview on 22 May 2013 at Dubai Consulate. Since then my case has been under AP though 221g yellow slip says 2-10 Weeks of processing. As calculated, 98 days have passed since IV but status has not been updated. I didnt even bother to call consulate or any other agency. My only intention is to spend a week or two with friends n family. After realizing open endedness of this AP, i have changed my holiday plans to Canada and modified the itinerary so that i can visit US in between if my Visa comes through

I have been silent reader of this blog. I have been reading amazing roller coaster experiences and the inconveniences one is enduring. Whenever I read yours and mirza's post i used to pray for the positive outcome in your cases, and so for others. As read on different blogs, for US applicants so much at stake and interrupted... jobs, home rents, utilities, cars, kids education, vaccinations, clothing, etc and the nerve wracking wait for update every day. Specially in Hyderabad, it is a bad habit of people to ask 'kab jaare miya' which is nagging irritation at worst level, specially in-laws, which is natural and out of concern. I read that people stopped attending marriages to avoid such questions.

I recently realize that 3 months have been passed and the my process has overshot by 4 weeks. Though Dubai Consulate website states that processing time of 4 to 6 months is expected. For visit visa, is it normal for such long processing? Can i initiate an enquiry? If so please advise me the procedure on my khalidjxb gmail ID. Also i can call if you provide me your contact details

During trying times and hardship, our dua's are most likely to get accepted very fast. So please everyone pray for everyone.

Actually an inquiry does help in some cases. It was only after I had raised in inquiry that my date changed from Nov5th to May30th. That means no activity or updates for 7 months. Even if it didnt help my case I think it at least pushes it forward as someone looks at the case and/or refreshes it and maybe that helps. Also for mirza, his status changed for the first time in 6months and got issued the next day only after he had sent an inquiry. Now different persons at the DOS helpdesk with give you different info. You have to be a bit smart and try with different people. Let them know your situation and ask them that IFpossible if there's anything you can do pls do so.....at least please raise an inquiry etc etc....I made a couple of friends there and found that they can send an internal inquiry if your case has been idle for n number of days. there's a dedicated person/team for such inquiries and they look into the case and this helps. In my case the lady was so sympathetic towards me that she asked for my contact number and when she got a response from the inquiry she personally calledd me and gave the info. I agree I am still waiting but only after that I have seen changes to my case update date.....you can see as I pasted that info for another obrother just a minute back....

Therefore if possible yes call them and try to raise an inquiry or atleast call for status update along with checking on their site. FYI, it took my parents 4months for their B visa a ocuple of years back. Thats probably cuz my dad used to work in Riyadh

Passport submitted but no updates for last 3 days

I got email to submit passports to Hyd consul on Thursday 22nd. Submitted on the same day. Status updated to Friday 23rd date. Today is my 3rd working day (Mon,Tue and wed)... No updates yet.. Do I have to hit the panic button yet?

Anyone who faced similar situation like mine.. I have seen cases where passports were returned with stamp in 3 days and I have also seen cases which took 2 weeks.. Ironically I have seen cases going back in Admin Processing after PPT submission... which took 3 months to clear... Not sure.. what to say..

Just wait and keep praying and hoping I guess... In Sha Allah very soon.

I noted one more thing today. My case number ends in 0001....I checked for 0002 as most likely it is for my wife as she too appeared with me for her H4. Her case update date also shows 29th August. So maybe her case date also changed each time mine did. I mention that because you stated that your family's date is still the case creation date of Feb 13th. I didn't know about this else I would have kept track of my wife's status too....Anyway, lets see!!

I am really trying to stay calm because I have been disappointed before a few times with similar situations but as per munna bhai and many others I know many brothers have got their visa issued in the last couple of weeks. Waiting times I have seen range from 2 months to 20 months, with many of them around the 6 month mark. I have been told that the status can change even by approx 6pm IST, hence I am checking often. Also a huge majority of the cases get issued on Friday. Inshallah I hope tomorrow will be the day for us. I pray for all of us and request the same from you all too.

In the past two days, there has been updates on date for five cases (out of 49 remaining AP cases) though status remain same. I am referring to the applicants who were interviewed along with me on 22 May for NIV. I guess DOS is active again...

As Salaamu Alaikum Wr Wb, if you are issued only one case number then don't worry about you dependents visa, it will get updated when you get yours. On my wife's passport I did not see clearance received. It was only on my passport I saw clearance received. In our case, we were given only one case number. And I have observed dependents date change is one day delay. Insha Allah their status would change soon.

I don't think that's true, if they issues two cases for you and your wife, they would notify you, 0002 might be someone else who attended visa interview on the same day. In my case they issued only one case for both of us. I had doubt about this and clarified with VFS, they said my wife Visa is directly dependent on my visa. And that is true because I see clearance date only on my visa and not my wife's visa. I use to track her status using DS-160 confirmation number.
