My current H1-b petition is expiring on Aug'15th 2005. and my employer has filed for my extension.I understand that it takes couple of months to get my petition approved.
Meanwhile, I would like to apply for H1-B visa stamping at Chennai Consulate, India. This is because it takes more than 4-5 months to get a visa appointment in india these days.
Is it possible to get a H1-B visa stamping appointment even before I got a petition approved.
Currently TTS visa web site requests you to enter the petition number of your H1-b.
Can I enter my current H1-b petition number (about to expire on 15th Aug) and get my visa appointment for just say Dec'2005.
Has anybody done like this before.
