Applying H4 visa before marriage

Hi, this question might have been asked before but i could not understand few things so re- stating them again.
I am getting married on 23rd Jan 2013. My fiance is on a H1 visa in US now. I am planning on applying for a H4 visa now. The DS-160 form has questions which should have answers like status:"married" and some answers where i should write "spouse". But we havent got married now!! Our plan is to submit it and to get a date after the marriage when we will have all the documents ready. Is that possible to write all answers in a way that we have got married in the form?? or will it cause some problem later on as the form submission date will be way before our marriage then! Do help us please!!Thanks!

somebody told me that because i am not married now and in the form that i will be submitting i would have entered married.. it will cause a problem. As the submission date of the DS160 form is saved.

All information filled can be as of on the day of the interview. Just make sure your interview is after you are married and are able to produce all relevant docs including marriage certificate.
I did it this way and my wife's H4 is approved. Nevertheless, its up to you. Apart from googling for other similar cases, you can also consult an immigration attorney for a legal standpoint.

In my case my wud be husband's company said that you appy only after you get married. Yet i have come across few friends who are filling up the form before their marriage. So right now i will be submitting my form only after my marriage.

I think I may be also applying for my wife after the wedding in early Feb. But due to the tight deadline for coming back I am worried if I will get an Interview date in 2 weeks after the wedding.

Could you please help me here ? When you look for interview dates, could you please let me know how the dates looked like. I mean lets say you applied on 24th Jan, what dates were open for the interview ?

Thank u for the wishes.. i submitted the ds form on 24th jan.. the dates were given by my husband's company, so i dont know how they looked like !! Today was my first date for biometrics. Tomorrow i have my interview scheduled!

Hi, can you apply for H4 visa now before the wedding so that you save time post wedding.

You cannot apply for the H4 visa without the marriage certificate. H4 is a dependent visa. You are not a dependent of a H1B holder until you get married.
