New H1 petition

Hi,

I am a software professional was working in a US company till June-2011 on H1 visa. Then I came back and have been working in India with another company.

My situation is,
My last petition in US was valid till May-2013.
Visa on my passport is expired as I had not got it stamped with latest petition.
I am in India since June-2011.
My total stay in US on H1 was for 4 years.

Now if I want to work in US again what are my options?
1. Is H1 transfer possible?
2. Is there a way to find if my last US company has cancelled my petition?

1. Is H1 transfer possible? -- Yes, but you will only get the remainder period. If fresh petition with Oct 1 start date is filed, you can get full 6 years.
2. Is there a way to find if my last US company has cancelled my petition? -- It does not matter.
