Process for H4 visa transfer while in USA.

Hi All,

I have been working in USA for more than 3 yrs and recently changed my job. new empoyer has filed for (transfer of) my H1b visa. I have received new I797. My wife holds H4 visa (it will expire in Sep 2013) and I have to get it transferred/renewed according to my new I797. We are not planning to go to India in near future. Can someone please explain what do I need to do to transfer my wife's H4 visa?
Any help is highly appreciated.

There is no such thing as H4 transfer. But since her I-94 expires earlier than your, she will need to file extension of status using form I-539. She must do this before her I-94 expires.

Thank you kabkaba. This helps. I had read about I539, but it was a little confusing as the description did not mention about H1/H4 visa extensions, may be I need to check the form thoroughly.
