Hi. I'm on an H1B visa and plan to resign from work in March this year, then a few weeks later marry my American fiancee, then stay for a few more weeks in USA before moving abroad. How would I go about to do that?
I understand that there's no grace period after I resign. I also assume it'd be problematic to change to a B2 visa since my intention would be to marry. Should I go ahead and marry (on paper) before I resign? Then what do I need to do to stay in USA for another month or so after resigning? Or should I try to change status to a K1 fiance visa? Do I have time? Thanks!
