    Hi guys,
I Went for an interview on Aug 2-2012. VO gave me the 221g and said I should get my passport in two weeks. It's over 6 months still waiting for Passport. My employer and I E-mailed several times asking about the case status in respond we recieved the same old automated reply. I am working with direct employer for last 9 yrs (i-140 approved) and his is the 4 times I went for visa stamping, last 3 times got the passport with visa stamped with in two days. At present i am working remotely but my job requires me to be physically present onsite. Last week my employer contacted the US Senator office, their office said the case is in Dept homeland security.

Any suggestions? Any similar cases please write.

      Thanks for the reply!
Hyderabad US Consulate looks like the headquarter for 221g cases. Here we are in the 21 century with the latest technology, it's really hard to believe that a process could take this long. It is worst than a govt office in India (atleast we can bribe to move the file on the fast track). We got lost in the system.

I attended in Oct. and case is under administrative processing. Yesterday I got email from US Travledoc helpdesk stating that "In order to process non immigrant visa application, please, submit your passport at any nearest OFC, between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. "

But when I check my status online is it still showing under process".

Not sure what is going on.

          Submit your passport

          Hello Shiha,

This is good news, go ahead and submit your passport to the nearest OFC, the website for status check is super slow or you can say it doesn't get updated to the current status, one of my friend who have got 221G got an same email he submitted his passport and got the visa stamped, the website will get updated later.

          Salim,

            221G WhiteSlip @ Hyd on Jan 23rd 2013

            Congratulations Sinha and Good luck.

I have attended the Interview on Jan 23rd and got a Whiteslip with case number on it. Visa officer mentioned that in 2 to 3 weeks status would be updated online.

Background: Had worked for a Tier1 Services Company around 9 years before joining a medium consulting company (Around 250 employees) in US last August 2012; I had completed 6 years on H1B and Tier1 company had approved I140; Using the approved I140, joined the medium consulting company due to family circumstances in Texas. Towards the end of last year, had to come to India due to a family emergency and attended the VISA interview.

Due to variances in paystubs, the officer reviewed my documents and gave me white slip with a case number saying that my app needs to go through Admin processing.

I have been checking my status online since then but the status says "Issued".

Not sure how long the processing takes but stuck here.....Does anyone is in the same boat as mine and any further inputs/suggestions under the circumstances?

I was told the same 2 - 3 weeks by the visa officer. I am not sure if he misplaced my passport in the consulate. Very terrible situation my wife and kids are in US waiting for my return. In my past 10+ yrs of stay in US never heard of this 221g monster. I hope this monster won't destroy our professional and personal life.
              Keep writing!
