Strange issue due to change of job

Dear All

I got my H1B (cap) stamped in DEC-2012 (through company A) and i am still in india. Due to circumstances, i had to quit company A. At the time of exit, the company A took back my I-797 (original petition approval?).

Now, if in the future i intend to go to the US with my new employer, what is the process? is my H1B scrapped? Will i be treated again like a new applicant and have to apply all over from scratch? will it go against my records?

Strange issue due to change of job

If you have a copy of your approved petition or the petition number, you can find a new employer in US and can transfer your petition to them.

Once the petition gets approved, you can use ur new employer petition and the visa that was stamped on your passport with old company name on it (hope you got your visa stamped earlier)
