Hi All, I need help here and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I came to USA on F-1. I completed MBA and started working with a University thinking that I would gain some experience and move to Industry. Now I am on H1-B working with the University. But I realized that it would be very difficult to move to Industry because of non transference of university H1-B visa.
If a company wants to hire me, then they would have to apply for my new H1-B in April and my understanding is that I would not be able to work for the company until Oct.1. If this is correct, I wonder why a company would wait for me another six months. Am I stuck with the university/not for profit organizations until I get my green card?
I know there is something wrong here because I see so many people who move form academia to industry but I am not able to get it. Is there anyone who can please let me know what am I missing or what is the way around? Thanks.
