Can H4 person travel US with ex employee stamping

Hi Friends,

I am on H1B visa, recently I changed my employer and with new petition and old employer H1B stamping I travelled to USA.

Now my question is can my wife and kid travel with valid stamped visa from my previous employer.

In my case it was not a problem at port of entry I did showed my old employer Visa along with new employer Petition I797 i did not have a issue. Please help me if anybody has gone through same or any legal advice.

Please no guessing answers.

They can use the same Visas.
