URGENT - H1B visa expires in January 06 - PLEASE HELP!

Please help, I am very confused with all these forms I need to file or not need to file. I am from Germany and my H1B Visa (6 years) will expire in January 2006. I know that I can file an extension, but I now heard that it is only possible when I already submitted all my paperwork for the green card? Can anybody tell me what I really need to file and what I need to do? I read about Labor Certification, but I have the job for the last 2 years, so do I need to file this again? PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME OR EVEN ASSIST ME?
