Entering US on H4 (Previous Visa Status)

Dear Sir /Madam,

My wife has entered US in 2009 on H4 visa after a year she got H1B visa for company A and she was working for the same company till Dec 2011. We visited India for vacation during Dec’11, she applied for H1B visa stamping for Company A but US consulate has put her case in pending status for more than 3 months. Because of the time delay we decided to apply for H4 and she got her visa valid till Dec’ 2014. After entering US on H4 early Jan 2012, she again applied for H1B transfer for Company B and it got approved within a month, she started to work for company B till this month.

Now she is planning to resign her job, visit India for vacation and planning to just return on her H4 visa (she has H4 visa stamped on her passport valid till Dec 2014). Is it possible to do this or she has to reapply for H4 visa as her status got changed to H1B for company B. There is no visa stamping on her passprt for H1B at all, she has only H4 in her passport.

Please advise me in this regard.
