What if not selected in H1B lottery

I have my current OPT expiring in first week of May. With the 2014 H1B going for lottery, I am wondering what will happen if my application is not selected in the lottery. Will I still be eligible to work under cap gap extension until September 30? Looking for your opinions/suggestions.

Yes you are, last year one of known friend faced similar issues, his application reached one day after the quota is complete. He got cap gap extension, if you are holding a job in hand you are no need be worry or else you will be suffered for the client letter.
