Correction in H4 Visa(because of consulate mistake)

I applied H4 for my 2 years old daughter in Chennai(India). After the visa was isssues I travelled to US and at immigration couter we discovered that my duaghter has been issues H1B instead of H4. The immigration officer cancelled the visa and has allowed my daughter to get into the country. This was puerly because of consulate mistake.

Now due to personal reasons I have to travel to India for 2-3 weeks and I am not able to get the appointent even when I tried 3 months in advance. As thsi was consulate mistake I want to know whether we can get the correction in Visa done in US ?
