I have got a valid H1B till Oct 2014. Now due to my designation change my employer filed for my H1B amendment and its approved with new expiration date - December 2015. I have already initiated my H1B re-stamping process with help of my employer's immigration team and I'm eligible for "Interview waiver program" as well. However I don't want to go for stamping as my vacation period is very short (just 1 week). Is it mandatory for me to go for re-stamping as my current visa stamping page in my passport shows its valid till Oct 2014? Will there be any issue in POE while I'm travelling back from India. I will also carry my new approved I-797 document as part of my H1B amendment confirmation. Will this help me to skip the re-stamping process atleast for this trip??
