H1B Visa - Got 221g yellow slip @ Toronto, Canada

Hello

I had H1B Visa interview in Toronto, Canada on May 8th. VO took my original I797 and returned Passport. My question is can I travel to India with passport and return back to Canada once the visa is approved.
Also what is the buffer time after the Visa is issued to come to canada and get stamped on Passport.

Please provide your suggestions
