H1B re-stamping necessary?

Hello,

My I797-A approval notice expires in November 2015
H1B stamp on my passport expires in third week of September 2013
I plan to travel outside the US in August 2013 and re-enter in first week of September 2013 (i.e. around 10-12 days before the stamp expiration date)
Do I have to get my H1B stamped in this case before I re-enter the US?

I also plan to renew my passport in the US before I travel outside the US.
My current passport expires in June 2014.
Do I need to have the H1B stamp on my new passport? Or do I just need to carry both the passports with me while I have the valid stamp on my old passport?

Hi,

I have the same problem. My current visa expires on Sept 15 2014 and I need to go to Europe from Aug 29th - septh 9th 2014. I too have an approved I-797.

What did you do? Did you get a new h1B visa stamp before re-entry? Let me know.
