H1B ends in a month, but company plans to send me before expiry date

Hi,

My H1B visa ends on July 10, 2013 but company plans to send to USA from India during June 1st week. Company said that once landed in USA, they can extend the visa.

Do I have any problem in travelling to USA with less than a month of visa expiry date?
Can't they extend the visa from India itself?
Is it mandatory I need to be physically present in USA to extend the visa?
