Attend H4 visa stamping before H1 visa stamping

Hi All

I am an Indian National and my wife is Thai national. We are right now in USA on H1B and H4B visas respectively. Our original visas has already expired and we have our approved extended petitions till October 2014. We are visiting Thailand and India to meet our families and in order to go back to USA we need to do the stamping again.

I would like to know, whether my wife can attend H4b visa stamping interview at Bangkok consulate with her extended petition BEFORE I attend my H1b visa stamping at Chennai consulate? I will be in Thailand at the time of her interview(if she indeed can attend) and not in USA. I will be attending my H1b visa interview at Chennai consulate after coming to India from Thailand. So to stamp H4 visa , does she need to present the new H1 visa in my passport or an approved extended petition based on the previous expired visa would suffice?
