H1B transfer without Offer Letter

Hi,
I recently got fired from a full time position. They gave me 15 days time to revoke my H1. I transferred my H1 to this full time company from a contracting employer. I worked only 1 month with my new company for full time. Now I want to switch back to new Employer to keep my H1 status. Can I transfer my H1 to a new Contracting employer with out a job and offer letter in hand. Please let me know the possibilities. Again, I have paychecks with my current company only for 1 month.

I assume the current employer's petition is approved already.

The new contracting company can certainly file the petition for you. However, in general they will be required to show that they have a legitimate job offer. Which means they will need to show that they have a 'project' for you.
