  • Going to attend a H1B interview after L1 denial

    Hi

My previous firm applied for an L1 an visa in 2010 and it got rejected.

Unfortunately I have lost the L1 rejection form and I am not sure what would be the rejected section they have ticked in the form. But I know it's saying some thing like it's not clearly approved.

I am going to attend a H1B visa in August.

My question is,Do I need to remember the exact section or denial reason for my interview ?

Also I would like to know what kind of questions they might ask about my previous attempt and how to answer those ?

Can anyone please tell me how to prepare for the interview ?

    Thank you

Did you apply for the Visa at the consulate or did your employer just filed a petition for you? Neither will affect your H1B application. However, if the previous was Visa application at consulate, it must be mentioned as denial in your current application.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

      Hi,

      Thanks for the reply.

My employer was filled an petition for me.I have mentioned the rejection reason in my current application.

What kind of questions I might face during my current interview about my previous denial?

      Thank you

I am in the same boat like you. My employer filed for L1B petition for extension while I was in US but it got denied. In DS-160 there is a question like "Was your visa ever denied before....." - are you mentioning that as Yes and describing it was a petition rejection? I am thinking of doing the same also even though petition rejection is probably not same as visa rejection.

Only Visa denials need to be mentioned, petition denials need not be mentioned.
