Using unused H1

Hello,

my h1 was applied and approved in Oct 2008, but I never used it and went to India. Now I am here on L1 and I have following questions

1. Till what date I can use old H1 quota
2. can I use only receipt as previous employer is not yet ready to give me Approved document?
Note: As per USCSI site receipt WAC is already approved.
3. Can i apply H1 with new role?

1. Previous petition expiry date + 6 years
2. In principle, receipt number is sufficient for the new employer to file a cap-exempt petition for you. But, some employers will insist on seeing the approval notice. It will be up to you to convince them.
3. It can be for any role as long as the job requires at least a 4 year Bachelor's degree and you qualify for the job.
