I currently hold a F1 student visa on Hong Kong passport and I am on OPT (which will expire in September, 2013). I traveled outside US to Canada in April, 2013 after my company filed H-1B petition for me in March, 2013. My H-1B petition has recently been approved but I was told that I may need to leave the U.S. and re-enter with the H-1B approval notice and a valid H-1B visa.
For my case,
1) Do I need to leave and re-enter the US?
2) Is traveling back to my home country to only way for me to obtain a H-1B visa? If not, where can I travel to in order to obtain a valid H-1B visa on Hong Kong passport?
3) Is a H-1B visa stamp enough for me to re-enter?
