Query related to applying for H4 visa

Hi,

I have a query with respect to booking an appointment with the consulate for H4 visa.

Currently my H1B visa is in the process of getting transferred from my previous employer to my new employer, I haven’t received my approval as yet, so can I book an appointment with my old petition documents and submit the new petition details when i go to the consulate or I need to wait until I get my new petition documents?
