Do I require I797 Original Document for Visa Interview

I am planning to go for Visa Interview in Vancouver to get my H1B stamped. I dont have my i797 original. My Petition got approved on July 31st 2013, but I did not receive Original Document yet. I have soft copy.My interview is scheduled on 28th Aug. Can I go without Original I797 Copy.

I appeared for h1b visa interview and attached photocopy of both sides of I797. The consular officer said "visa is approved". My lawyer said:

"The original I-797 is no longer required because all of the approval information is on a secure information system called PIMS.
