H1b VISA transfer - initial review, currently on OPT.

I am currently on OPT. I had filed for my H1b visa status on April 2013 with employer "A" and had it approved (I-797), in aug 2013 i filed for my H1b Visa to be transferred to my new employer "B" and on the USCIS website my case status is shown as initial review. If my case status remians at initial review until Oct 1 can i work? My OPT is expiring in early Oct 2013.

Yes, you can work for either A or B after Oct 1. Your status will be H1B from that point as it has already been approved.
