H1b transfer before Oct 1st 2013 and currently on H4 not working

Hello,

Currently I am on H4 and my H1b would be effective from Oct 1st 2013 for company A.

Yes it is possible but you are cutting it too short. By 01-Oct-2013 if the H1 has not been ported to B and has not yet been approved, you should join A, otherwise you will go out of status.
