Work on approved H1 while B2 is pending

Hi, I'm here seeking for your help. currently i'm in L2 visa which is expiring on 24th sep of this year. I applied for H1B and got approval (eff. from Oct 1st).
there is a 6 days gap before H1 activation and L2 exprie. I applied for B2 visa requesting permission to stay in US for 6 days before my H1 activation. now, the B2 visa status is in pending. would like to know if i can work on H1 from oct 1st though my b2 visa is pending.

No you cannot do that and it will only complicate matters more.

Is your L2 I-94 also expiring on 24-Sep-2013?
If yes, then technically, your H1 should have not been approved as COS from 01-Oct-2013 because on 30-Sep-2013 you would not be in status.
