H1 to L1-A

Hi

I have H1 visa with my current Employer A which expires on November 5th 2013. Employer A is processing L1-A visa for me in premium processing. At this point I am not sure if it is a (H1 to L1-A) transfer or a fresh L1-A visa. I have the below questions:

1. In either case, be it a transfer of H1 to L1-A visa or a fresh L1-A visa, can I transfer my H1 to another Employer B to find another job?
2. If L1-A visa is approved next month as it is premium processing, can I still look for a job on H1 and apply for change of status before November 5th 2013?
3. If I get an RFE for L1-A visa and takes longer than 2 months, can I still go for H1 transfer using my current H1 visa?
4. My H1 was based on developer role but as I've been working on Management role, my Employer A is applying for L1-A. So when I apply for H1 transfer to another employer, can I apply along with change of role?

1) Yes. You can transfer your H1B to another Employer. Also, when the H1B transfer is applied for, in the same application, the employer can apply for extension of visa as well.

2) You will have to do a Change of Status from L1 to H1. Also, you could switch status to L1 and look for Status Change back to H1B even after Nov 5, 2013.
