Is it possible to change company while H1B extension is in process

Hi All,


I would like to clear few doubts,please help me;

1) Is it possible to change company while H1B extension is in process considering the below facts;

a) H1B extention is pending with USCIS(Filed on Aug 4th) and the current VISA expired on 30th sept.
b) Currently I am in India(came last month.)

2) What are the steps to follow and time taken for the same.if possible.
